She began her career as a judicial law clerk and later worked at large firms in Washington, D.C., including Venable, where she represented both Fortune 500 companies and small to mid-sized businesses. This extensive experience has equipped her to guide companies on corporate governance, tax-exempt organizations, commercial transactions, and investor agreements.
Laurie is particularly well-versed in addressing the challenges faced by startups and growing businesses. In addition to her legal career, she has held executive roles in the private sector, where she worked closely with legislative and executive branches on economic development initiatives. Notably, Laurie spent eight years managing early-stage and growth-stage technology programs in Kentucky and founded Kentucky’s Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs in 2012.
